Computer Skills Training

  • Students are prepared for placement in a variety of office support positions.
  • Course is designed to provide experiential competency-based training, with individualized assistance and ample practice time.
  • Students are taught Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access. Keyboarding Skills and office technology are also emphasized.
  • Upon graduation, students receive a certificate from the Community College. of Baltimore County

Customer Skills Training
Contact: CWashington@GoodwillChes.org ~ Office Manager/Intake Specialist
  • Students receive 8 weeks of classroom training, followed by 4 weeks of on-the-job experience in community setting.
  • Curriculum focused on learning basics of customer service, problem-solving, communication, phone skills, etiquette and propriety, human relations work skills, keyboarding and data entry.
  • Graduates placed in service-oriented occupations in retail, hospitality, sales, telecommunications services, non-profit, and related settings.
  • Employers renowned for customer service involved in classroom training.
Human Service Training

  • Certificate program co-sponsored by the Community College of Baltimore County.
  • 14 Week competency-based classroom training focused on practicing skills.
  • Includes learning counseling/responding skills, case management, crisis management, advocacy, developing resources, problem-solving, and documentation.
  • Graduates are placed in a variety of entry-level human service settings in positions such as case manager associate, residential counselor, peer counselor, rehabilitation aide, job coach, community living assistant, and mental health worker.
